Harbour construction, shore wall reinforcements: experience on Lake Balaton, Lake Fertő and Lake Veneto

MA-HARD Hajózási és Vízépítő Kft. is a strategic partner of KÉSZ Csoport, a major player in several segments of the domestic construction industry, in the field of hydraulic engineering, together with another member of the group, Mahart Tiszayacht Kft.. Two years ago, together with the managing director of the latter company, we visited three port construction sites and a interview with him. The company also completed the construction of the Ypsilon Yacht Club in Alsóörs, which was handed over last summer.

Mahart Tiszayacht is primarily involved in the construction of floating structures and terraces, as well as sunbathing platforms, and also designs and manufactures complex jetties and pier structures in accordance with its own standards. .

This new seawall will be connected to the existing harbour seawall on the south side as a separate structure, and on the north side it will be connected by a wing wall to the existing paved embankment. The structure will be constructed with steel sheeting throughout.

As regards the piers, the documentation specifically notes that the breakwater beam designed for the pier stem will be a precast reinforced concrete structure. For the eastern jetty, the tender also indicates that a precast reinforced concrete deck will be constructed. The west pier will not be passable after the reconstruction, and will be constructed with a new elevation of hydraulic engineering stone supported by the stones of the previously constructed plinth.

This is how the pier promenade will be rebuilt

The jetty will be raised higher according to the hydraulic engineering plans, with a new seawall on the western side and a low concrete barrier on the eastern side, separating it from the northern boundary of the public park.

In addition, lighting and rest areas will be moved to the east side. The raised terrace at the pier head and the plant trough will also be rebuilt, with new, uniform paving laid over the entire surface. The furnishings will also be renewed. The pierhead will also be rebuilt, including the current viewing platform, with new stairs, new handrails, rest areas and technical installations.

New tree line, renovated observation deck, redeveloped recreation area, community space

It is highlighted in the landscape architecture section of the documentation:

• the enlarged harbour area will be redeveloped to include a new tree line and a new prominent planting trough;
• the south-west rest area will be partially rebuilt,
• and the cantilevered observation deck will also be renovated.

In addition, the main entrance's public connection will be transformed into a community space, organically linking it to the harbour recreation area. The square will include a new play area, a bicycle point, a drinking fountain and an intensive green space.

The centre is transformed into the most

In the central area of the port, the existing service buildings will be demolished and a new paved square will be built east of the promenade. These will be bounded by arches running from the municipal area to the central promenade.

The new square will also accommodate two new pavilions and a smaller play area. There will also be a new drinking fountain and longitudinal cycle storage along the two curved access walkways.
