Hungary's third musical journey is ready - watch the video to see which song it plays
On 5 September, Hungary's third Music Road was inaugurated. On the acoustic section of the main road 21 between Hatvan and Lőrinci, the popular hit "Nélkülded" by the band Ismerős Arcok is now played to the traffic.
On behalf of Építési és Közlekedési Minisztérium, HE-DO worked on the project, which is the third of its kind in the country. We previously presented a video report on the 67 main road, and we also tried out the section of the Main Road 37 section, which plays the folk song Érik a szőlő (The Grapes Are Ripening).

The Heves County musical track is part of a broader development series rel="noopener">series of developments affecting several sections of Route 21.
Main road 21 became 2×2 lanes for half a hundred kilometres
The Ministry of Investment also wrote about this in a press release, but before doing so, they made sure that
Between 2015 and 2019, the 2×1 lane main road No. 21 was gradually expanded to 2×2 lanes between 2015 and 2019, thanks to which motorists can now travel on a total of 4 lanes over a distance of approximately 52 km between Salgótarján and Hatvan.
These are the jobs now being done by the HE-DO
They then went on to explain the current project, which is being carried out entirely by HE-DO's main contractor: After the road improvements, additional works were recently carried out, which included the standardisation of traffic engineering elements and improvements to facilitate the use of public transport.
In the framework of this, on 5 July 2024, bus shelters and pedestrian crossing points were inaugurated at the bus stops at the Irinyi Road intersection, and the street lighting and CCTV network were expanded.
Two hard surface car parks with a total of 46 spaces at the junction provide convenient and safe parking, while a covered storage area for 50 bicycles provides secure storage for bicycles. To increase personal safety and property protection, camera systems have been installed at most underpasses of the main road 21 in Tar, Mátraverebély and Bátonyterenye.
The musical journey is the crowning glory of the project series
Further improvements are being made as part of the project. Bus shelters and pedestrian crossings at the bus stops at the Tari and Gorge Spire grade-separated interchanges are expected to be completed by the end of the year. And to solve local drainage problems, the Hidegvölgyi watercourse will be straightened for about 3.6 km south of Pásztó.
The musical road section is the crowning achievement of the project, providing a special experience for motorists. In order to play the melody, the asphalt pavement has been specially painted with a ribbed surface, with the appropriate length of the period and the corresponding intervals of the musical melody.
When passing through this car, the pitch of the melody is determined by the distance between the grooves, and the accuracy of the contours of the pavement markings.
József Pántya, Deputy State Secretary for Road and Railway Construction at Építési és Közlekedési Minisztérium, spoke at the event, reflecting on the developments that have taken place on Main Road 21 since 2015. He mentioned the widening to two lanes, renovations and the construction of new roundabouts, as reported by the local hatvanonline.hu report.
MP Zsolt Szabó, Member of Parliament of Heves, said that the handover day is a joyful one. "This is the melody that speaks from the heart. The hearts of 15 million Hungarians beat a little faster when the song "Nélküled" is played before a football match." Then he pointed out that it also contains the significant phrase: "we are of one blood."
Finally, Member of Parliament of Nógrád County Zsolt Becső also spoke, and members of the Imperious Faces band also came to the ceremony.
