Fresh air is a real help

Seriously and chronically ill children and their families are cared for at the Camp Bátor Camp in Hatvan, which can accommodate 246 people. In the secluded wonderland of the former pioneer camp - surrounded by forests and fields on all sides - there is no trace of the old buildings: every structure meets the highest standards of care and camping for sick children.

The camp uses an experiential approach, where participants gain confidence, strength and positive experiences through playful, challenging activities. It provides spiritual healing for hundreds of children every year. Here, not only the children, but also the volunteers who work with them - the Companions - gain life-changing experiences while contributing to the camp's mission.

It is of paramount importance for Camp Bátor Tábor to continuously upgrade its real estate portfolio to ensure the best possible environment for its participants.

The available funds are also reinvested in these improvements, so that new buildings can be renovated year after year. Last year, the Cimbora houses were upgraded to provide a comfortable environment and accommodation for volunteers.

Joining forces for a good cause

The renovation of the Cimbora houses, which serve as accommodation for camp volunteers, had become necessary as they no longer met modern energy efficiency requirements. The heating and ventilation system was modernised by Geo Concept Kft., with the assistance of Lindab ventilation products.

"It is important for us that the volunteers who help the children can also relax in a suitable environment. The campers are working hard every day, so we wanted to provide them with the necessary comfort," said Éva Fodor-Kovács, Communications Manager of Camp Bátor.

Once again, this is a project where the participating companies have worked together to support an important social cause. The need to modernise the heating and cooling system at the campsite was a fortunate match for Lindab's responsible approach to the environment and social issues. The contractor Geo Concept Kft. is no stranger to supporting the camp, having recently installed a system for heating and cooling the dining hall. As part of the recent upgrade, heat pumps have been installed, which not only provide more cost-effective heating, but also reduce carbon emissions. In this way, the project contributes to the decarbonisation objectives of the Camp. So as well as its social aspect, this renovation was also important from a sustainability point of view, which also fits well with the strategy of both companies. Lindab and Geo Concept Kft., in partnership with each other, were delighted to help refurbish the camp houses, contributing to the camp and supporting the fantastic work of the staff.

Clean, fresh air with quality products

The Lindab's ventilation solutions are specifically designed for superior indoor comfort. The project included the installation of sidewall diffusers to ensure that all rooms have access to sufficient fresh air, which is key to creating a comfortable and healthy environment.

In the rooms, NR19 rectangular diffusers provide the right airflow. They not only add to the aesthetic appearance of the rooms, but also have individually adjustable nozzles, so that the air direction and throw can be adjusted as required.

For the project, Lindab also provided custom-made junction boxes, manufactured in Biatorbágy, which help the ventilation system to operate efficiently.

The Lindab OLR and OLC products, which are installed in the rooms and act as diffusers to distribute air between rooms, also help to distribute air as evenly as possible. Pressure equalisation can be achieved in a noise attenuated way with these products, which is very useful and important in rooms with smaller air spaces.

In addition, Lindab flexible ducting and air ducts were used throughout the project to achieve the best possible results, including FBLDFSL flexible sound attenuating ducting. Its function is to ensure that the air directed into the machine from the fan coil is delivered with low noise, in a thermally insulated manner and with the lowest possible energy loss.

Camp Courage aims to provide healing experiences for sick children and their families. The role of the camp volunteers is key to this, so their proper accommodation is essential. Thanks to the renovations, the Cimbora houses now provide an even more comfortable environment for volunteers, contributing to the smooth running of the camp and the fantastic work of the volunteers.
