Comprehensive schoolyard development completed in Zugló
The Zugló schoolyard renovation programme was implemented in the design of Bayer Construct Zrt. project, which involved the renovation of more than ten schoolyards in Zugló in 2024 and 2025. To mark the end of the project, a press event was held on 13 October in the schoolyard of the Jókai Mór Primary School in Zugló.
The handover ceremony was attended by Ádám Borbély, Zugló municipal representative, Attila Balázs, owner and CEO of the Bayer Construct group, György Házlinger, director of the Central Pest District Centre, and Mariann Hudu, school principal.
Investment worth several billion forints
Several billion forints were spent on the total budget for the development of Bayer Construct Zrt.. The aim was to enable students in Zugló to play sports and games in a modern, safe and inspiring environment, and to make the courtyards worthy venues for community events.
Modern sports fields and new surfaces
During the programme, more than 7,300 square metres of Rekortan sports flooring was installed in the institutions, as well as an additional 1,000 square metres of Rekortan flooring under the playground. In addition, 3,665 square metres of artificial turf, 5,172 square metres of paving stones and 656 square metres of asphalt surfacing were installed.
36 new sports equipment items — including goals, basketball hoops and volleyball posts — were also installed. The outdoor sports facilities were further expanded with four new long jump pits and two new sand pits, which were designed with safety rubber edging.
Greener, more liveable courtyards
As part of the developments, new green areas covering more than 3,000 square metres were created by planting trees and shrubs and laying turf. Shade is provided by 390 square metres of sun sails.
The comfort of the communal areas is enhanced by 92 benches, 6 tables and 62 waste bins, while the play areas feature 18 new play elements, such as a play castle, trampoline and chess and mill boards built into rubber flooring.
The company has modernised the courtyards of the following institutions:
- Mihály Munkácsy Primary School and Elementary School of Arts in Zugló;
- Budapest XIV. District Liszt Ferenc Primary School;
- Zugló János Arany Primary School and Elementary School of Arts;
- Móra Ferenc Primary School, Budapest XIV District;
