Hungarian Entrepreneurs' Day: 'Building the future together'

The twenty-fourth edition of the Hungarian Entrepreneurs' Day is now a celebrated event, with a gala ceremony held on 1 December 2023 at Müpa Budapest.

János Eppel, President of the 35-year-old Vállalkozók és Munkáltatók Országos Szövetsége (VOSZ), Prime Minister Viktor Orbán and László Parragh, President of the Hungarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, also gave speeches at the event, which was attended by Finance Minister Mihály Varga and Minister of Economic Development Márton Nagy.

Entrepreneurs from many fields were awarded

This year, the Hungarian Entrepreneurs' Day event again honoured those who have achieved outstanding performance. The newly established governmental award of the Ministry of Economic Development, the Hungarian Entrepreneurship Grand Prize was awarded posthumously to Sándor Demján, the Perpetual President of VOSZ, in recognition of his activities in business and advocacy. The award was received by Mrs Sándor Demján at the event.

Four people were also awarded the Hungarian Economy Award this year:

• Rita Boglárka Exterde - Managing Director of HEADLINE PR Szolgáltató és Kereskedelmi Kft.
• Béla Gesztesi - Executive Director of the National Association of Entrepreneurs and Employers
• Attila Rapcsák - Managing Director of Whist Kft.
• Károly Villás - Economic Director of the National Confederation of Entrepreneurs and Employers.

Outstanding entrepreneurs have been honoured with the Entrepreneur of the Year award, including two Hungarian business leaders from abroad.

As we previously reported: Ottó Boross, managing director of VEMÉV-SZER Kft., received the Veszprém County Award together with 19 of his colleagues, who were nominated by numerous counties and organisations.

• Ildikó Márta Debreczeni, Managing Director of Jelmez-Art Kft. (Jász-Nagykun-Szolnok county)
• Dr. Gábor Gál, Managing Director of Alisca Dent Kft. (Tolna county)
• Ilona Faragó, owner of FB Jegyző Kft. (Budapest and Pest County Regional Organisation)
• János Péter Gyarmati, Managing Director of Huniko Kereskedelmi és Egészségügyi Szolgáltató Kft. (Borsod-Abaúj-Zemplén county)
• Ágnes Honosiné Máhr, Managing Director of Ho-Máhr Trans Kft. (Komárom-Esztergom county)
• Antal Hossó, owner of Hossó ABC Kft. (Heves county)
• ifj. István Losonczi, CEO of Losonczi Innovation Kft. (Békés county)
• László Kisgéczi, Managing Owner of LÉ-TA Kereskedelmi és Szolgáltató Kft. (Baranya county)
• Zoltán Kiss, Managing Director of Kiss B. Ker. Kft. (Szabolcs-Szatmár-Bereg county)
• Herman Kovács, CEO of Nagisz Zrt. (Hajdú-Bihar county)
• Lóránt Lehrner, CEO of Közép-Pannon Capital Zrt. (Fejér county)
• Péter Mercs, Managing Director of Kámon-Hús Kft. (Vas county)
• Samu Tibor, owner-director of Samu Öntöde (National Forum of Hungarian Entrepreneurial Associations of the Carpathian Basin)
• László Szórádi, Managing Director of Cső-Lavina Kft. (Győr-Moson-Sopron county)
• Borbála Szücs, Managing Director of Osa-Bo Bt. (Nógrád county)
• István Török, Managing Director of Török Kft. (Somogy county)

In 2023, four people were awarded the Outstanding Contribution to Society Award:

• from the VOSZ Women Entrepreneurs Section Mrs Sándorné Demján - Demján Sándor Demján Foundation

• from the VOSZ Services Section Dr. Balázs Simon (Co-founder, Legal and Communications Director) - Humania HRS Group Zrt.
