Bringing the profession and training together to develop the construction industry

ÉVOSZ is preparing a coordinated collaboration with eight universities in Hungary, with the support of Építési és Közlekedési Minisztérium (ÉKM) and the Ministry of Culture and Innovation (KIM), according to a Építési Vállalkozók Országos Szakszövetsége (ÉVOSZ) press release.

The ÉVOSZ channels the experience required by industry

They announced that the member organisations of ÉVOSZ want to actively participate in the development of programmes to improve the careers of university teachers, among other things. They added that the universities, with the support and cooperation of ÉVOSZ, are involved in the training of teachers in secondary schools. The universities will collect, analyse and share statistical data on engineering graduates and will cooperate with the professional association and industry partners in future career guidance activities in secondary schools. 

They stressed that ÉVOSZ is a collaborative effort to identify the experiences and directions that industry sees and needs, so that they can jointly develop a future technology strategy for the industry.

It is also important that joint research themes are identified between universities and businesses in the future. Partly industry funding is also needed to identify effective technologies and building products.

Work experience is a compass for further developing training

The ÉVOSZ has set a specific objective to involve as many students as possible from the beginning of their studies in the practical processes of production, design and construction, in connection with specific projects and enterprises. They pointed out that the further development of university education should be demand-driven. This requires an assessment of the training of young engineers starting their careers and their employers. "Workplace experience is a compass for the further development of education," said László Koji, President of ÉVOSZ, in a statement issued by the association.

The promotion of engineering education was noted,

that even in difficult market conditions, the construction industry promises job security and professional development to career changers, civil engineering graduates, architects and professional engineers.
