The competition for architectural ideas has closed and the results have been announced.

Following a strictly anonymous professional evaluation, an architectural design by an office in Debrecen won the Hungarian Transport Museum's ideas competition, according to János Lázár, Minister of Construction and Transport Facebook post. As the minister pointed out, according to the jury, the work by Archiko Kft. was the most unique and iconic of the 18 entries received, meeting the criteria of the competition.

The Minister also briefly summarised the aim of the tender: the Hungarian Transport Museum at the Debrecen site was expected to be an emblematic building with a forward-looking, automotive-centred exhibition, meeting the latest museum technology requirements and complementing the visitor centre of the neighbouring BMW Group factory.

The second prize was awarded to DPI Design, which stands out for its striking architectural - landscape architecture concept. The jury found the spiral's self-reversing plan interesting, creatively combining traditional museum structures with modern forms.

The third place went to the DAW Építész Studio entry, which the Minister said should be all about motoring, with freedom, speed and innovation.
