Project of the Year – The rebirth of Körszálló received prestigious recognition
At the Real Estate Awards awards ceremony, the professional jury selected the development of Market Asset Management Zrt. as the special prize winner in the planned projects category. The project involves the comprehensive renovation of the iconic cylindrical tower building Körszálló in District II, which will be reborn with 21st-century residential functions in the design of Market Építő Zrt..
Function change – From hotel to premium apartments
What makes this project unique is that the apartments are being marketed with a service package associated with the Marriott International brand. The owners of the 48 exclusive apartments with panoramic views on 14 residential floors are not only purchasing premium real estate, but also receiving the level of service guaranteed by the international hotel chain. The concept combines the privacy of one's own home with the comfort of luxury hotels: residents have access to concierge services, housekeeping, and wellness and fitness facilities, among other amenities.
The deteriorated built heritage is saved and adapted to future expectations.
„The recognition of Real Estate Awards is important feedback for us, showing that the profession values courage and innovation. The rebirth of Körszálló is more than just a property development: it is a category-creating investment. With the concept of branded residence, we are proving that the Budapest property market is ready for the highest quality, international standard products. Our goal is to save the dilapidated architectural heritage in a way that meets the energy and functional requirements of the future, while offering a lifestyle that has been missing from the domestic market until now,” said Sándor Makra, CEO of Market Asset Management Zrt..
Smart home solutions aimed at near-zero energy consumption
The investment will also be implemented using state-of-the-art technical solutions. The building will be designed in accordance with the requirements for nearly zero-energy buildings, with a heat pump cooling and heating system, heat recovery ventilation and smart home solutions. As part of the development, the environment will also be renewed: instead of the previous paved surfaces, the proportion of green spaces in the area will be significantly increased. Demolition work has already begun, and the project is scheduled for completion in the summer of 2028.
