The heavy machinery of Vasúttechnika took part in the renovation of the Szombathely railway station

The SWIETELSKY Vasúttechnika Kft. played a significant role in the reconstruction of the track network of Szombathely railway station The company has a fleet of around 150 machines, which can be used for construction and renovation work on domestic large and small railways.

In October, turnout replacements and track reconstruction were carried out on the right and left tracks of line 20. Track control was performed using the frequently used 08-475 UNIMAT 4S KIAG control machine.

The KIROW is of particular importance in railway construction, where the tasks that can be performed with this machine are of great importance:

• dismantling and laying of the siding (also for siding pre-bonded on site or assembled in the factory),
• demolition and construction of track fields,
• the removal and installation of provisions,
• moving bridge elements,
• moving other works, elements and machinery - accessible only by track.

Its special feature is that it can also be used for work without the need for lowering, and as the crane is self-propelled, no other towing vehicle is required, so it can move around the work area with the load lifted. The extendable counterweight increases the load capacity of the machine.

The Székesfehérvár - Szombathely railway line is one of the most important railway lines in the Transdanubian region, but in the summer speed restrictions had to be introduced on the tracks. GySEV started the first phase of the partial renewal of the track network at the end of September. The works are expected to be completed by the beginning of December, after which the speed restrictions introduced in the summer will be lifted.
