The University of Pécs University's huge energy efficiency project is in full swing, with new buildings being renovated
The University of Pécs is planning to renovate several buildings in the near future to improve their energy efficiency. The diagnostic laboratory and the Ifjúság út campus, the modernisation of three more buildings has been announced. The University of Pécs's public education and vocational training institutions are considered to be among the most prestigious schools in Pécs. The three-part announcement aims to renovate the energy systems of the university's main public education institutions: the energy modernisation of the Babits Mihály Practice Grammar School, the Deák Ferenc Practice School and the PTE SZESZI (Social and Health Technical College and Vocational School) will play a significant role in the long-term sustainability of these institutions.

The detailed design of the energy upgrade includes architectural and mechanical works, lightning protection and the installation of motorised shutters.
The main works are planned to be carried out over 12 months:
- Replacement of 175 windows and doors with plastic and/or heat-insulating metallic construction, with 3 layers of glazing, up to 1.15 W/m2fittings with a heat transfer coefficient of K,
- 1904 m2 façade retrofit insulation - generally XPS and EPS, with rock wool insulation above windows and shutters, highlighting that the insulation of friezes and overhangs above curtain walls and under the roof structure of the building must also be provided.
- After the removal of the shades on the 3rd floor skylights, the successful bidder will be required to install new shutters on the specified windows in the southwest portion of the building.
Deák Ferenc Practical School

The basic tasks to be completed in 18 months:
- insulation of the façade and roof, total 3238 m2-with XPS and rock wool insulation,
- renovation of the thermal and water insulation of the flat roof,
- the façade windows (228) and 1276 m2 replacement of the façade cladding.
PTE SZESZI
As in the past, the renovation of the Vocational School building will require the contractor to carry out architectural and mechanical works, lightning protection and the installation of motorised shutters.
The main expectations for the 18-month renovation:
- Replacement of all the façade windows and doors (160 in total), except for the 3 double-leaf metal windows in the basement of the north façade,
- 2510 m2 façade retrofit insulation with XPS, EPS and rock wool insulation,
- 1175 m2 renovation of the thermal and water insulation of the flat roof,
- the 25kW solar PV system currently on the roof will be reinstalled after demolition, and
