These are the projects that won the awards for the best Hungarian property developments

The winners of the XXV Hungarian Real Estate Development Award competition have been announced, the competition for which was organised by the Hungarian Association of Real Estate Professionals, FIABCI Hungary. The winners were honoured at a gala event at the Néprajzi Museum on 22 November.

The Hungarian and international jury of experts recognised the best Hungarian real estate developments in 11 categories, which will be eligible to participate in the international finals in Singapore in 2024. In addition to the individual categories, special prizes were also awarded.

Here are the three best developments

This year, the first prize was awarded to the modernisation of the Hungarian State Opera House, which was carried out by WEST HUNGÁRIA BAU Kft., Épkar Zrt. and Laki Épületszobrász Zrt.. The project also received first prize in the cultural and heritage protection category.

The jury selected the Matild Palace project (Luxury Collection Hotel) as the second best real estate development. The project also won first prize in the hotel category for its redevelopment of the Klotild Palace in the south.

The third prize and first prize in the office building category went to Mol Campus Kft. and Finta és Társai Építész Stúdió, respectively, in the general construction of Market Építő Zrt. in recognition of the Mol Campus built by the general contractor.

Winner announced in the numbered category

The first prize in the residential building category was awarded to Bayer Property Zrt. for the renovation of the A47 historic residential building. The first prize in the industrial category was awarded to Opera Vagyonkezelő Kft. in recognition of the Eiffel Workshop of the Hungarian State Opera House. The first prize in the urban scale category and the special prize of the Hungarian Urban Planning Association were awarded to the municipality of Sopron for the development of the Sopron Museum Quarter.

In the education category, TSPC Technical Supervision and Planning Consulting Hungary Kft.was awarded the prize for the Faculty of General Medicine at the University of Pécs (built by ZÁÉV Építőipari Zrt. ), while in the landscape architecture category, the local government of Budapest's 13th district was awarded first place for the development of Vizafogó Park, and in the mixed-use building category, Kima Studio Kft. was awarded first place in recognition of the Kozmo Hotel and Condominiums.

The Skanska Magyarország Ingatlan Kft. received the 1st prize in the environment category in recognition of the H2Offices Phase 1.

More than 30 Hungarian gold medals so far

The FIABCI Hungary first announced the Hungarian Real Estate Development Excellence Award in 1997 to recognise the outstanding performance of Hungarian real estate developers and to promote participation in the FIABCI World Prix d'Excellence international real estate development competition.

The winners of the 24 Hungarian Real Estate Development Award competitions so far have successfully represented Hungary, winning 33 gold and 44 silver medals, thus gaining great international recognition. This makes Hungary the most successful European country and third in the world behind Malaysia and Singapore.
