An interchange with the M3 motorway will also be built, which will make the area attractive for businesses.

During a press tour, media representatives from the region were able to view the current status of the development of the Nyíregyháza South Industrial Park. As previously reported by our newspaper : the first phase involves earthworks on the one hand and road and utility construction tasks on the other. The former is being carried out by Nyíregyháza-based Nyír-Wetland Kft. consortium from Nyíregyháza, while the latter will be carried out by the Mészáros és Mészáros Zrt. consortium and the „KE-VÍZ 21″ Zrt. consortium. The Vabeko Kft. is also participating in the expansion. The plans for the current phase are being implemented by Főmterv Zrt. and „A” Studió 90 Kft..

Sunwoda, Boysen, W-Scope, MCE – these multinational companies have certainly found a home in the Nyíregyháza Industrial Park, for the development of which the Hungarian government has allocated 192 billion forints in funding – reports szon.hu. Of the total subsidy, 152 billion forints will go to the local government of Nyíregyháza, as they are coordinating the development of the industrial park, while the remaining 40 billion forints will be used by various public utility companies to build the infrastructure necessary for the operation of the plants and service facilities. The press tour organised by the local government of Nyíregyháza consisted of three stops: it began next to the Boysen plant, which is already under construction, and ended at the planned OPUS TITÁSZ substation – the intermediate stop was the area where an exit from the M3 motorway may be built in the near future.

Dr. Ferenc Kovács stressed before the tour of the South Industrial Park that the experts and the machines are working continuously in the South Industrial Park, and the Boysen is already planning to start trial production this autumn. The plant, which will manufacture components for electric cars, is expected to create 400 new jobs in Nyíregyháza.

Ferenc Kovács also spoke about the details of the developments. According to

-The Nagykállói road in Nyíregyháza will be widened to two single lanes,

-develop the internal road network of the industrial park, provide it with street lighting, and

-The internal water and utilities networks are also being completed, with a daily capacity of 5,000 cubic metres of water and 2,000 cubic metres of waste water.

-14 kilometres of roads will be built,

-10 km of cycle paths,

Investment promotion strategy

The general assembly of the Nyíregyháza municipality unanimously adopted the city's investment promotion strategy, which included the development of available industrial sites as a target, it was announced at the press conference held in the afternoon before the visit.

- The future construction of a junction of the M3 motorway here is extremely welcome news for the companies that will settle here, and the local government has done a lot of work in this respect, said the mayor. Roland Podlovics, deputy mayor, added that the municipality is paying particular attention to environmental and sustainability requirements in the development. In May 2022, a Preliminary Investigation Document and a soil and water contamination status assessment (423 hectares) were completed. A monitoring system will be set up as part of the planning for the next phases of the industrial park.
