WING, a mixed-use development offering office and hotel functions, is located in the IX. district of Budapest, next to Népliget, Liberty. A ceremony was held to inaugurate the northern wing of the complex, the second and final phase of the project, which includes 20,000 sqm of office space, and to unveil the contemporary work of art, the WING Lemniscata space sculpture, located between Telekom Campus and Liberty.

Our newspaper reports on the construction of Liberty and its integration into the city, from the special deep foundation work carried out by HBM Soletanche Bachy Kft., starting with the special deep foundation work carried out by SWIETELSKY Magyarország Kft. structural engineering tasks through to commissioning. The final general construction was carried out by Bernecker Zrt., the designer was DPI design Kft., and the technical supervisor of the project was VL Mérnökiroda Kft..

The complex offers many services

The Liberty complex offers an ESG compliant, high quality and sustainable environment. It is dynamic in appearance, energy efficient, energy efficient, BREEAM Excellent certified, and 100 % running on green electricity with near-zero energy demand. With the handover, a project is now complete with a wide range of services for tenants:

The premium well-being and convenience features of the ibis & Tribe Budapest hotel, the panoramic Cloud IX. rooftop bar, the TRIBE Table restaurant and café, and the conference rooms are complemented by a roof garden and sports fields located on the top of the building. Nearly 80 per cent of the building has already been leased, but there is still some office space available for interested parties.

Square sculpture unites the two buildings

As part of the inauguration ceremony for Liberty, the WING Lemniscata space sculpture, designed by Péter Szalay and placed between Liberty and the adjacent Telekom Campus, was unveiled. The WING Lemniscata space sculpture, an 8-metre wide and 4-metre high stainless steel work, was commissioned by WING and will arch gate-like through the space used by passers-by.

Péter Szalay, the creator of WING Lemniszkáta, said: "An important aspect in the design of the sculpture was that it is placed in the space between two buildings, Telekom Campus and Liberty: the geometry of the space curve represented by the steel structure unites the two building volumes. One of its main views draws out the lemniscate, or infinity sign, which offers a number of associations: its gestural sweeping wavy line dynamizes the space bounded by the built environment and creates the illusion of movement as seen from the vehicles passing on the boulevard." At the same time, the car's movement creates a sense of movement from the road and the flow of the traffic that passes through the streets.
