The Mariavölgy Golf and Country Club to be renewed next May

The Pannonia Golf & Country Club in Máriavölgy, Fejér county, is being renovated: the renovation, which has been going on for almost a year, started in July this year, but the really spectacular improvements will begin with the end of the golf season, according to a press release sent to our newspaper.

As part of the construction, a changing room building will be built next to the Clubhouse, which will house men's and women's changing rooms, as well as storage and staff facilities. At the same time, work has also started on the refurbishment of the half-track HalfWay House, which will temporarily take over the restaurant functions of the Clubhouse following the refurbishment, and will continue to operate as a stand-alone unit, sandwiched between the 10 tee and 18 green.

With the development, the club aims to meet the highest international golf course standards and become one of the top 100 clubs on the continent. The project is scheduled for completion in May 2025, after which the club will join the Botaniq Collection umbrella brand of BDPST Group hotels and restaurants.

"It is also a milestone in the life of golf in Hungary as a whole that our facility is taking a qualitative step that will allow it to join the narrowest elite of Europe in the coming years. With this development, we also have the undisguised aim of bringing the sport closer to the people, raising awareness of its accessibility and thus promoting the game among adults and young people alike"- said Soma Dala, chairman of the board of Máriavölgy Zrt., the club's operator and a member of the Hungarian Golf Association's governing body.

They are also opening up to training for young people

Founded in 1996, Pannonia Golf & Country Club is a renowned and popular venue for golfers from both home and abroad. In 2024, the club had almost 400 permanent members, two thirds of whom also held a competition licence card, representing the club in national and international competitions.

In order to promote the sport, the Golf Club would like to establish its own academy in the future, and thus play a key role in the training of young golfers in Hungary. As a first step in this direction, the club was able to invite Martin Cummins, an internationally renowned trainer, to two camps this year, targeting young people, especially those under ten.
