Pázmány Campus: demolition continues, soon the antenna on top of the main building will be dismantled

From the first of September, demolition works will take place in the entire area of the new campus of Pázmány Péter Catholic University. One of the most visible elements of this is the removal of the 30-metre high antenna on the roof of the main building, which will take place on 24 September. In parallel, the removal of construction debris will also start

- according to the Ministry of Construction and Transport (ÉKM).

In it, they stress that the project has all the official permits and call on those who oppose the construction to take this into account.

According to previous information from the ministry , thanks to the investment, the „unsightly, dilapidated buildings” in the centre of the capital's 8th district will be demolished and the Palace District will be renovated. As we previously reported, in August, the buildings that formerly served as the Hungarian Radio office and archive were fenced off and vacated, and demolition could then begin.

The construction of the new centre of Pázmány Péter Catholic University is the largest educational development in recent decades, which will revitalise the neglected downtown area; several old palaces will finally be renovated; the historic district will be enriched with buildings that fit into their surroundings, yet are still 21st century; and the proportion of green and community spaces in the area will increase - highlights a recent statement from the Ministry.
