Multi-purpose sports park to be built in Kiskunfélegyháza, project to be completed this year

In a recent Facebook post published at published Facebook post, József Csányi, mayor of Kiskunfélegyháza, reminded readers that, along with several other significant investments, the renovated Vasas Stadium will be handed over in the city this year (in October, to be precise).

2.6 hectares under cultivation

The project, funded by EU grant TOP Plusz, will create a modern, multi-purpose sports park, providing active recreational sports facilities for children from pre-school age to adults. The outdoor recreation park will cover a total area of around 5.6 hectares, with the construction covering 2.6 hectares.

The newly built youth sports park will include an asphalt cross-country course, a playground for young children, a zip wire and a pump track, according to the city's website.

A streetball court with a shock-absorbing rubber surface and a 400-metre-long, 1 metre-wide running track will be built as part of the sports park's facilities. In addition, a dog agility park and a streetworkout area for adults will be added, and a drinking fountain and water block will be available for those using the facilities.

The project will create large, intensively maintained green spaces with modern urban furniture and plant a total of 286 trees.
