Ten tower cranes work on the construction of the new Paks housing estate

Work began on the construction of the Léna residential park in May 2024. The Épkar Zrt. – WEST HUNGÁRIA BAU Kft. – Magyar Építő Zrt. consortium is working on a 500-apartment building complex in Paks. we have already reported on this large-scale project on several occasions here.

Under all three buildings will be underground parking

The project consists of three blocks of flats of different shapes and heights. One of these will be 4-6 storeys, one 3-4 storeys and the third three storeys. Underneath each of them will be a basement with underground parking, and residents will be able to park their cars in the parking spaces between the buildings.

The Magyar Építő Zrt. experts have now informed us about the progress of the project: we have learned that both the parade route network and the container village are now fully completed, and

Ten tower cranes are on site to support the work of the consortium.

The construction site has been able to work at full capacity since November last year, before which the replacement of electrical cables and drinking water slowed down the pace of work. In parallel with the structural works, basic electrical and mechanical installation work is underway, the connection of the district heating for the shop and communal areas has started and the external utilities are being installed. The preparatory parts of the utility connections have been completed and the municipal district heating supplier is making good progress with the extension of the network.

The three blocks are built at the same time

As you can see in this video from late February, all three buildings have started to rise out of the ground, and the project is looking more and more spectacular. Construction on the buildings is in various stages of completion.

The construction of all three blocks is currently underway.

The basement walls of the first block are complete, and the slab sections above the basement are on schedule. While the structural work is ongoing, the mechanical and electrical work is being carried out in parallel, and the insulation of the substructure is progressing well.

The second block will be built in stages: while the contractors are working on the slabs of the staircase "F", the slabs above the first floor of staircase "E" are already being built. Here, work is nearing completion on the insulation of the substructure and the remaining sections are being backfilled.

The third building is now attracting the most attention

The most spectacular phase is the construction of Block III. Here, in the section adjacent to staircase "C", structural work has already progressed up to the 2nd floor, the vertical ascending structures are complete, and the slab of the second floor is being built at a good pace.

Structural construction is immediately followed by masonry, with both external and internal walls being built at the same time. General insulation is ongoing at basement level, and substructure insulation and backfilling works are nearing completion.

The installation of the external windows of Block III is scheduled to start soon.
