Stunning footage - the roof structure of the main roof is in place
As reported in Hungaroring Facebook page, the final roof section has been put in place on the brand-new main stand. The construction of this heavy structure, weighing a total of 1,300 tonnes and covering an area of 8,976 square metres, took around four months and was fully completed by mid-March. The roofing work is already underway; almost all that remains is to install the seats. The steel support structure for the commentary boxes is also being constructed here.

It consists of a total of 21 elements: 13 double main girders weighing 53.9 tonnes each and 8 single main girders weighing 19.1 tonnes each. The roof elements were lifted into place using a 650-tonne mobile crane, of which there is only one in Hungary. Its special feature is its extreme load-bearing capacity.
