More than half a kilometre of sewage pipeline is under construction near the BYD plant and SZTE Science Park.

Almost two months ago, we reported that the Colas Út Zrt. and the Délút Kft. consortium had been completed completed the large-scale infrastructure development of the University of Szeged Science Park research, development and innovation centre. The BYD electric car factory under construction, the ELI-ALPS laser research centre and the Rheinmetall factory (which included the construction of two lakes, approximately 5.8 kilometres of water and sewage pipes) will enable the world's leading large companies to work together with the research facilities being built here.

This month, news arrived of the construction of a new, approximately 600-metre-long sewage pipe connected to the BYD factory in the industrial innovation hub, which was also reported by szegedma.hu reported on this. As the news report reveals, work is underway on the Budapest Road (i.e. Main Road 5) as part of the Szeged Waterworks Zrt. investment project.

The project will involve the construction of a new sewer before and after the roundabout at the junction with the 502 road, for a total length of 300-300 metres, over 600 metres. The development is part of the infrastructure improvements for the construction of the Chinese car manufacturer's mega project, ensuring adequate wastewater treatment in the area. The works are expected to be completed by mid-July.
