Makó bypass planning can begin

News of the preparation of a long-awaited investment. A winner has been announced in the public procurement procedure for the development of the border crossing at Kysombor and the road and cycle links between Makó and the M43 motorway. The investor is Építési és Közlekedési Minisztérium.

As stated in the EU public procurement notice, the best and winning bid for the task was submitted by UNITEF’83 Technical Design and Development Zrt., TURA-Terv Mérnökiroda Kft. and Via Futura Mérnöki, Tanácsadó és Szolgáltató Kft. consortium, with a net value of approximately HUF 450 million.

Cycle path, bypass, bridge

The people of Mako have been waiting for decades for the construction of a bypass: now it can happen. The call for tenders also includes the design of a new two-lane bypass of around 5.7 km. The construction of more than 9 km of cycle paths (including a cycle underpass) between Kiszombor and Klárafalva is also being prepared.

Among other things, the partnership is responsible for preparing study plans and preliminary investigation documents for a number of other planned transport developments. These include:

- designing a section of the 431 motorway with a maximum axle load capacity of 11.5 tonnes for a section of approximately 5.7 km with 2×1 lane widths and upgrading the existing parallel cycle track;

- design of the axle load capacity of 11.5 tonnes for the approximately 0.8 km of the 43 motorway, with 2×1 lanes;

- design of the renovation of the 110-metre-long structural bridge over the Maros river,

- and the design of the axle load capacity of 11.5 tonnes for a section of the 430 motorway of about 3.2 km with 2×1 lane width.
