The new plant in Mako can produce up to one billion two-piece aluminium cans a year

In December 2024, the construction of the Benepack plant in Makó, carried out by Market Építő Zrt., was completed – according to the Hungarian building contractor’s latest from the Facebook> post. Hong Kong company starts production at new manufacturing base in Mako

Our newspaper also followed this large-scale investment, most recently reporting on the work when the 70 per cent completion of the project. Hong Kong-based Benepack Hungary Kft. has invested €65 million (HUF 25.3 billion) in the Makó industrial park.

Csang Je, CEO of Benepack Hungary Kft., the parent company of COFCO Packaging, said in an earlier statement that the company is establishing its Mako plant for aluminium cans as a second milestone in its European development. The complex will operate as a new manufacturing base, capable of producing up to one billion two-piece aluminium cans per year.
