The premises of a long-established sports club are being developed in the town of Baranya.

In June, our newspaper reported that the Komló sports centre may be renovated. The project concerns properties belonging to the Komló Miners" Sports Club, and a public procurement procedure for selecting a contractor has now been published on the EU public procurement website.

One of the city's largest projects is being implemented with the cooperation of Építési és Közlekedési Minisztérium and state funding. The project includes the complete renovation of the athletics track, the construction of a training hall, the modernisation of the existing sports hall and the creation of a sports hotel.

Modern sports facilities are being built

The new sports hotel being built at 44 Pécsi Road will have a ground floor and two upper floors, with a total net floor area of 2,055 square metres.

During the construction of the new training hall, the studio section of the existing service building will be demolished and a covered outdoor grandstand with a capacity of 201 seats will be built.

During the development, the two existing dug wells will be renovated and a new drilled well will also be constructed.

The athletics track will be constructed using 4,549 square metres of poured track surfacing and will include a long jump and triple jump area.

The construction of the natural grass pitch will cover an area of 6,407 square metres and will be covered with turf. They will install

• a shot put circle,
• a discus and hammer throw circle and cage, as well as
• a moulded rubber javelin thrower.

Finally, the central building will be renovated, and a covered area and a warehouse will also be constructed.
