The Galerius in Siófok has reopened as a year-round water park
The renovated Galerius Baths in Siófok will reopen on 1 April, according to a statement from the facility. The tourism-focused development was carried out as part of the Széchenyi Plan Plus programme, with a non-repayable European Union grant of 900 million forints.
They have developed state-of-the-art energy solutions
Prior to this investment, the spa had to be closed in 2021 for technical and safety reasons, as we reported previously. The 1.8 billion forint modernisation project was carried out by Fehérép Építőipari Kft. in Székesfehérvár and Fürdőpark Vízgépészeti Kft. in Budapest.
The aim of the development was to create a state-of-the-art, year-round leisure spa. Accordingly, the spa’s technical infrastructure was upgraded, including the water and ventilation systems; in addition, state-of-the-art energy solutions were implemented throughout the complex.
New services and spaces have been created
As a result of the development, the range of services offered by the Galerius Baths has been expanded:
- the thermal pool is once again using thermal water from Nagyberény,
- in addition to the adventure pools and wellness facilities, a refurbished sauna area,
- as well as new, family-friendly and premium services – such as a Private Spa and child-friendly indoor and outdoor areas – await visitors.
The announcement emphasises that the refurbished facility offers visitors an experience not only during the summer season but all year round, thereby strengthening Siófok’s role in domestic tourism.
