Spectacular video shows the development of the STRABAG at a Polish airport
The Polish colleagues of STRABAG are carrying out the largest expansion of Wrocław Airport in Silesia (formerly known as Boroszló in Hungarian) to date. The project covers an area of approximately 54 hectares, according to the Austrian-based company's international Facebook page. Figures, data and a drone video about the major investment have been published, and a report has been issued on the work phase that was completed in December.
As they write, part of the development
- a new apron capable of accommodating 12 aircraft,
- a fast track,
- 2.5 kilometres of new taxiway
- and the construction of an ice-free area,
- and the reconstruction of existing runways.
Most of the work is being carried out while flight operations continue and air traffic is maintained. Only the most critical phase of the project, the completion of the new fast exit and part of the taxiways, required the suspension of operations between 26 October and 4 December 2025.
