Published

The upgrading of the 67 road to four lanes is progressing rapidly, with the final phase of the widening of the new 10-kilometre-long section, currently two lanes. Once the Vision bypass is completed, it will be a fast-lane road to Lake Balaton.

Motorists travelling on the 67 main road will only need to be patient for a few more weeks, according to article in Somogyivár. The Strabag Általános Építő Kft. and the Építési és Közlekedési Minisztérium investment, the section of Route 67 bypassing Látrány will be built, during which the 2×1 lane main road will be rebuilt into a 2×2 lane main road with physical separation.

Currently, traffic on the right lane (towards Balatonlelle) is 2×1 lanes, while on the left lane, reconstruction works are underway and will be completed by the end of September. After that, in the first weeks of October, the left lane towards Kaposvár will be opened, at the same time as the right lane will be closed for the construction of the wearing course.

Detour routes are designated

During the closure, which will last for about three weeks, drivers travelling from Kaposvár to the M7 and Balatonlelle and Visz can reach their destination via detours. The traffic will be diverted to the road 6713 (the old 67), i.e. via Somogytúr and Látrány to Balatonlelle, from where the motorway can be reached via road 7. Those travelling to Visz should use the Látrány-Visz link road.

In addition to replacing the entire width of the wearing course, wearing course repairs will also be carried out along the roundabout at the M7 motorway, which will mean that diversions can be expected on some days, for which the contractors ask for the patience and understanding of the public.
