More than 37 kilometres of road 47 to be widened to four lanes

Two new Kőrös bridges could be built as part of the four-lane widening of the 47 motorway.

According to the recently published announcement, a contractor is being sought to draw up plans for a 2×2 lane road connection between Berettyóújfalu and Békéscsaba. The work consists of four parts:

  • Part 1: Körösladány, bypass road;
  • Part 2: Köröstarcsa, bypass;
  • Part 3: Mezőberény, bypass road;
  • Part 4: Preparation of the permit and construction design for the section between Mezőberény - Békéscsaba.

part 1: bypass of körösladány

The winning tenderer will be responsible for the preparation of the full permit design, the necessary documents for obtaining the necessary permits, the obtaining of the construction permits and the preparation of the full design documentation for the new 2×2 lane elevated highway on a continuous route bypassing Körösladány, for a length of approximately 12 km.

The planner is also responsible for the planning and licensing of the expansion of the existing Berettyóújfalu Engineering site. The expected quantities of development to be completed in 800 days are:

  • is a single level node,
  • two level nodes,
  • an artifact above a railway,
  • a new 2×2 lane national road bridge over the Sebes river with a minimum span of 30 metres, and
  • 5 km of new 2×1 lane access road in addition to the link road No 4234.

part 2: bypass of köröstarcsa

A new 2×2 lane elevated high-speed road on a continuous route bypassing the city of Karst is planned to be designed by the developer, for approximately 4.5 km, and the widening of the 47 highway to 2×2 lanes for 4.4 km. The winning bidder will also be responsible for obtaining the permit plans and permits and preparing the full design documentation. The expected quantities of the development to be completed in 800 days:

  • is a single level node,
  • two at-grade junctions, typically as a turbo roundabout,
  • a new 2×2 lane national road bridge with a span of at least 30 metres over the Double Loop,
  • 1-1 axle weight station per side and a combined wildlife crossing.

Part 3: Mezőberény bypass

The winning bidder will be responsible for the design and licensing of the new 2×2 lane, approximately 8.3 km long, continuous, elevated speed motorway bypassing Mezőberény and the preparation of the full design documentation. The expected quantities of works to be carried out in 700 days:

  • two separate level nodes and
  • an artifact above a railway.

Part 4: Expressway between Mezőberény and Békéscsaba

Between Mezőberény and Békéscsaba, the winning bidder will be required to build a new 2×2 lane elevated highway on a continuous track, for approximately 5.2 km, and to widen the 47 highway to 2×2 lanes for 3.2 km. This will include the preparation of full permit plans and permits, as well as full construction design documentation. The expected quantities of works to be carried out in 700 days:

  • a separate level junction on the M44 motorway and
  • two at-grade junctions, typically as a turbo roundabout.
