Designers sought for the project of the south-east bypass of Nagykanizsa

The implementation plans for the south-eastern bypass road of Nagykanizsa may be completed, which will solve several important traffic problems in the town in Zala County. According to information published in the EU public procurement database, a conditional tender has been issued for Építési és Közlekedési Minisztérium (ÉKM). The successful bidder will have 385 days to prepare the documentation and must also apply the BIM design methodology.

The road will start from the main road 61 from Dunaföldvár via Dombóvár to Nagykanizsa and follow a southern curve to the Nagykanizsa - Murakeresztúr connecting road (the airport of Nagykanizsa is specifically mentioned in the call for tenders). The bypass itself is planned to have a total length of 10.6 km, but will also have several urban accesses, with an estimated total length of 14.4 km, with 2×1 lanes. Also

• the total number of new junctions planned is 6, of which 4 are roundabouts and 2 are divided into 2 lanes;
• the number of level crossings is 2,
• and the number of additional artefacts is 13.

The bypass will have several direct connections to the city and other roads: the connection to Levente Street and Forest Street, the connection to Brewery Road, the connection to Camping Road and the connection to Ady Street are all included in the tender.
