The county road 137 between Odorheiu Secuiesc and Cluj-Napoca has been modernized in Harghita County, the project was inaugurated on Wednesday with a bicycle parade and a community picnic, the Harghita County Municipality of Sicily informed.

According to the announcement, the newly reconstructed road has become the most modern and safest road in Harghita County, Romania, thanks to the inclusion of a dedicated cycle path.

How they raised money for the works

The investment is part of the Anghel Saligny development programme for municipalities. It is valued at RON 190.4 million (HUF 14.8 billion), of which RON 140 million (HUF 10.9 million) was provided through a programme initiated by the Hungarian Democratic Alliance of Romania (RMDSZ).

The event was also attended by several leading politicians of the RMDSZ - RMDSZ President Hunor Kelemen, Deputy Prime Minister Barna Tánczos, Development Minister Attila Cseke and Senator Lóránt Antal. In their speeches, they stressed, among other things, the role of the programme in the development of the municipalities.
