Two bottlenecks in Szentendre's transport network to be addressed by the new development

Road 11 in Szentendre will be renewed at two busy junctions, Pap Island and Rózsa Street, according to a press conference held on 13 October. The cost of the project is around HUF 1.8 billion net.

The most painful points are healed

Vitályos Eszter, Member of Parliament of the region, said that together with Zsolt Fülöp, Mayor of Szentendre they drafted a letter to the relevant ministry, summarizing what technical content they would like to implement in light of the available funds.

This identified two junctions that are currently the most congested points on the main road No 11 in Szentendre.

One is the Pap Island intersection, where new pedestrian crossings are being built and a traffic light intersection is being constructed, and the other is the Rózsa Street intersection at the Zrínyi Miklós National Defence University, where left turns need to be resolved, because in the current traffic regime, left turns from Budapest are blocked both for drivers coming from the capital and from the opposite direction.

The problem at the other location, the intersection with Rózsa Street, will be solved by a new left turn lane and traffic lights. In addition, the sewer covers and pavement will be renewed for 1,042 metres, and DMRV Zrt. will also renew the drinking water network by replacing the drinking water pipes.
