Sixteen roads are being renewed in the southern Transdanubian city

A new contract has recently been signed with Orosz Útépítő Kft, the contractor responsible for modernising the roads in Dombóvár. Companies were able to submit bids for the road renovations in two parts – 8-8 streets – in the public procurement procedures. In both cases, the aforementioned company was evaluated as the best. Road renovation works are taking place in several parts of the city. In addition to replacing fragmented road surfaces, subsidence caused by utility lines will also be repaired.

5.4 km of the first stage will be easier

In the first phase of the renovation, 16 streets will be modernised in two parts. Under the contract signed in May, a total of 5,400 metres of pavement will be renewed on the eight streets in the first phase, including Pannonia, Ady, Elisabeth and Lily.

Local sinkholes will also be removed by the renovation

A second contract was recently signed to pave eight more streets. Orosz Útépítő Kft.'s technicians will work on several sections of Main and Radnóti streets, Dózsa and Szent Vendel streets, among others. In these locations, the reconstruction was also made unavoidable by fragmented pavements and localised subsidence. Once the works are completed, traffic safety and comfort will be improved on 4,800 metres of road.

Replacement of the entire track structure on some sections of 16th Street

During the construction, the existing pavement will be removed by profiling and replaced by a layer of high-abrasion asphalt. The worst sections will also be completely resurfaced with modern road base and mechanical stabilisation. The drainage system will remain on the old track, with the addition of embankments and gullies.
The road rehabilitation will contribute significantly to the long-term sustainability of the transport infrastructure in Dombóvár.
