Major water development starts in Bük

A new water tower will also be built as part of the work on Bük's drinking water and wastewater network.

A winner has been announced for both sub-projects of a two-part investment to develop the infrastructure of Bük, near Kőszeg. According to the EU notice announcement, the contractors will be responsible for developing the drinking water and sewage network and constructing a reinforced concrete water tower in the town.

These works are carried out on the water network

The works on the drinking water and waste water network are part of the tasks of HYDROCOMP Mélyépítő Kft.. The sub-project, worth around HUF 382 million net, will include:

  • the installation of a water pressure pipe (drinking water backbone) for nearly 2.5 km;
  • the construction of 19 000 square metres of ditch sealing;
  • pressure test of a 1 km wastewater pressure line;
  • installation of pressure lines in trenches with electrofitting joints over 1 km;
  • and water sampling, laboratory testing and handover documentation will also be carried out.

How the water tower is built

AGM Betonelemgyártó Forgalmazó és Építő Zrt. is responsible for the construction of the reinforced concrete building. The sub-project, which will cost a net amount of HUF 1.398 billion, will involve, among other things, the excavation of around 1,000 cubic metres of earth and the installation of 220 m of 2 masonry formwork with a double-sided conical surface. Construction is expected to take a year, after which the city will have a water tower capable of storing 1,500 cubic metres of water.
