The drainage ditches will be dredged to make the Tolna county settlement safer.

Döbrököz has long been struggling with sudden downpours of rain. The village of almost 2,000 inhabitants in Tolna county is drained by the Kapos river, but the three ditches connected to the river have filled up with soil and failed to drain the water. The last time a part of the settlement was flooded was in May last year.

As part of the improvement of the stormwater drainage system starting in June

Almost four kilometres of the Sajtosmalmi, Ártézkúti and Wildwasser ditches are being dredged, and a section of the Sajtosmalmi ditch is being paved to protect the 6532 road, Mayor Edit Farkas told MTI. After the investment, the village's adobe houses will also be safer.

The investment, worth more than HUF 450 million and due to be completed in 2026, will be implemented with the support of the Operational Programme for Spatial and Urban Development Plus.
