In its first project outside the capital, WING's residential property development brand LIVING is building 400 homes eligible for the Home Start Programme.

WING has purchased a development plot in Debrecen. The company's residential property development brand, LIVING, plans to build around 400 modern, energy-efficient flats in several phases in the county seat , according to a statement by LIVING published by https://www.economx.hu/gazdasag/otthon-start-program-debrecen-videki-lakasprojekt-ingatlanfejlesztes.817689.html.

The project is the company's first residential development outside Budapest, which is scheduled to start in the second half of 2026 and the vast majority of the apartments will be available with the preferential loan schemes of the Home Start Program (OSP).

In response to the buoyant demand in the real estate market of Debrecen, the apartments will be available for purchase with a favourable payment schedule of 20-80 percent, they promised.

The 10,900 sqm development plot is located in Debrecen, in the area bounded by Hajnal Street, Alkotmány Street and Csengő Street, 10 minutes from Piac Street. The investment opens a new chapter in the history of LIVING: the developer aims to expand its presence in the market for quality, sustainable residential developments beyond the capital.

„The transaction just closed is an important milestone for us, as it allows us to launch our first residential development outside Budapest. In Debrecen, we will offer the same careful design, high quality, modern and sustainable homes that LIVING is known for, at affordable prices,” said Tibor Tatár, Head of WING's residential and office development business in Hungary.

Modern housing, community spaces and shops are built

They also said that the development will be carried out in several phases and will mostly consist of affordable apartments of 40-45 square metres, which will be ideal for students and young people starting their careers in the city, as well as for newcomers to Debrecen.

In addition, larger two- and three-bedroom apartments are also being built, making it an attractive option for families to create their own home.

The residential buildings will have shops on the ground floor, and the development will also include parking, community amenities and green spaces for the convenience of residents, to the high quality standards already expected from the developer, they said.

Strong demand on the Debrecen market

They also said that the industrial and technological investments of recent years have made Debrecen one of the most dynamically developing cities in the country. The emergence of multinational companies has created thousands of new jobs, resulting in a significant increase in both property prices and rents.

While demand continues to grow, the number of new housing developments has not kept pace, so there is a growing need to increase supply in the local market. The project is being delivered thanks to an equity investment from the Housing Capital Programme.
