The awards of the architectural design competition of the Petőfi Sándor Cultural Centre in kiskőrös were handed over

The new cultural centre, the new Petőfi Sándor Library and the new public square will be built after the demolition of the old party house and the cultural centre, which is located next to the birthplace of Sándor Petőfi in kiskőrös.
25 entries were received, of which 9 were awarded by the jury.

First prize not awarded

The first prize was not awarded, but a purchase and a special purchase prize were given to the designs that were found to have certain elements of value by the judges.
Shared second and third prizes were awarded to the entries that best met the conceptual requirements in all respects. The Ministry will invite the split second prize winners to submit bids and will then award a design contract to the selected candidate.

Certificates of Acceptance were awarded to: the 3H Építésziroda Kft., the DAW Építész Stúdió Kft., the KERT-VONAL Bt. and the MINIMALISMO Kft..
The Dot Design Kft. and MCXVI Kft. received a special purchase award.
And the shared runner-up award went to SAGRA Építész Kft. and TIBA Építész Stúdió Kft..
The third place certificate was awarded to AU.ROOM ÉPÍTÉSZETI MŰHELY Kft..

One centre with many messages

At the award ceremony of the design competition in Kiskőrös, Regő Lánszki, Secretary of State for Architecture of Építési és Közlekedési Minisztérium, said that the new centre should function as an iconic space that encapsulates the cultural heritage of Kiskőrös and Hungary, while also bearing the hallmarks of modernity. In the designs submitted for the competition, he added, the jury was looking for how creativity meets feasibility, tradition meets the future and local value meets universal architectural standards.
