Concrete elements instead of steel barriers - making the M7 safer
From a traffic safety and operational perspective, a better solution than before will be implemented on the M7 motorway: instead of the steel guardrails used to date, concrete elements will be used to separate the two lanes, for which the existing drainage system will also be rebuilt – reveals a Facebook post by MKIF Magyar Koncessziós Infrastruktúra Fejlesztő Zrt..
As described, in order for this central separation bar to support the elements and for the drainage to be properly designed,
substantial foundation, preparation and asphalting works are needed, and are currently underway on the section of the M7 between the Siofok and Zamard junctions.
The other day, a post published on published post emphasised that for safety reasons, only one lane will be open in each direction on weekdays, but during busier periods, i.e. at weekends, two lanes will be open in each direction. Furthermore, from 13 June, two lanes will be open in each direction.
As in the last two years, there will be no planned renovation work on the motorway between the M0 and Balatonvilágos on the way to Lake Balaton during the holiday period this year, the information concludes.
