100 leading construction professionals in one place! - INFOTÉR CONTECH 2025 Conference launched
The INFOTÉR CONTECH 2025 Conference, organised for the first time this year as a two-day programme, has begun. which is being held with the media support of Magyar Építők on 16 and 17 October. The event, held at the Anna Grand Hotel in Balatonfüred, will cover current issues in the sector with around 100 leading speakers from the domestic construction industry. According to the programme, senior public administration officials, leading construction companies and the largest customers of the near future will all be present at the presentations and roundtable discussions.
The weight of architecture is not just about data
The event was opened by Attila Soltész, President of INFOTÉR Association. In his speech, he stressed that the construction industry is a crucial part of a country's image and has a significant impact on many sectors of society. "This industry deserves attention in areas such as digitalisation, vocational training, legislation and financing," he added, concluding by stressing that this event is not just a conference for the association, but for the whole sector.
As the first speaker, Regő Lánszki, State Secretary of Építési és Közlekedési Minisztérium for Architecture, gave a numerical sense of the importance of the sector: the industry employs 370 thousand people, provides half a million jobs with related sectors, and accounts for 7% of GDP. He pointed out that the importance of architecture cannot be demonstrated by figures alone, as surveys show that 91% of Hungarians are proud of the country's built heritage. "The built environment has an impact on us, so the quality of what we build is very important."
The industry would have no problem building 25,000 homes
László Koji, President of the National Association of Construction Contractors (ÉVOSZ), continued by summarising the most pressing problems of the sector. The most important factor in his speech was the supply of work: surveys show that on average, the sector can produce 25 percent more work per person. He predicted that some 12,500 homes could be built this year, up from 13,295 last year. "I would add that the industry would have no problem building 25,000 homes, but we also have significant spare capacity for housing renovations."
During the two-day event, the leading construction companies will be represented by a number of speakers at the INFOTÉR CONTECH 2025 Conference, including.
