Despite the challenges that have characterised the construction market for years, one of Hungary’s largest building materials distributors has had a successful year.

At the annual general meeting of one of Hungary’s largest building materials distributors, Új Ház Zrt., decisions were also taken on matters concerning senior executives who will shape the company’s future: the members and Chair of the Board of Directors were elected, and the company’s Chief Executive Officer was reappointed – as we learnt from the company’s press release.

According to the consolidated figures, the Új Ház Group’s turnover rose to nearly 100 billion forints in 2025, representing an increase of more than 15 per cent compared with the previous year. The group’s adjusted profit after tax exceeded 459 million forints, whilst operating profit also showed a significant improvement. These results demonstrate that, even in an unfavourable market environment, the company was able to increase its efficiency, strengthen its market position and maintain its operational stability.

Dividends totalling more than 300 million forints were paid

The General Meeting approved the company’s 2025 annual report and also decided on the allocation of the profit after tax. A total of 316.5 million forint in dividends was paid out to shareholders.

The members of the Board of Directors have been elected for the next three-year term: Evelin Hegyi-Lisztes, who has been a member of the Board since 2021, will serve as Chair. Her election marks the end of a significant period of more than 13 years during which Attila Juhász served as Chair of the Board of Directors. The other members of the Board of Directors are Csilla Szórády, László Rábai, Zoltán Pethő and László Balla.

The shareholders have reappointed Csilla Szórády as Chief Executive Officer until 30 November 2029; she will continue to be responsible for the Company’s operational management.

New focus

The new management cycle will focus on further strengthening the competitiveness of the franchise network, the continuous development of central services, and the implementation of network development programmes designed to support the success of franchise partners.

The owners’ decisions clearly demonstrate their commitment to the company’s long-term strategy and ensure its consistent implementation in the coming years.
