Train passengers can take possession of the new lifts at the Tatabánya railway station

We have been continuously monitoring followed the lift construction project aimed at making the MÁV Tatabánya station accessible over the past year, thanks to the announcements published by the state railway company on social media.

On 24 April, they posted on Facebook that

As part of the MÁV upgrade, three elevators, each 11 metres high, have been installed at the station to provide more comfortable and safer travel for passengers.

Some more post-works are listed in the MÁV post alongside the work that has been done, but you can also see the passengers using the lifts in the photos. In summary, the renovation will include replacing the glass panelling, corrosion protection and updating the flooring, as well as replacing the side glass on the three staircases, and is expected to be completed by the end of April 2025.

We have previously written about other tasks, such as the installation of tower structures lifting of tower structures, and the value of the investment is more than HUF 1 billion. Two of the three lifts provide access to the platforms, while one provides access to the P+R car park.
