A municipally-owned and run crèche in Orosháza, Békés county, has been renovated with a gross EU grant of HUF 340 million, according to a local government statement published on 14 September.

The development of the Kisharang Nursery was carried out by Építészmester Zrt. in Hódmezővásárhely carried out the development of the Kisharang Nursery, according to public procurement data. The municipality of the town of 26,000 inhabitants in southern Békés County received funding from the EU's Regional and Urban Development Operational Programme.

The ground floor of the building has been converted and extended by adding a loft. Now they can cater for 76 children aged 0-3 years.

In the development, the cooking kitchen, utility rooms, offices and changing rooms were moved upstairs. The grant was also used to purchase outdoor games and to create a courtyard covered with mastic.

Thanks to the project, the nursery will be able to provide other day care services for children (periodic childcare, salt room, playroom) in addition to its core activities, according to its free capacity.
