The children could take over the Mosolyvár Nursery in Sopron

As we reported, June, the technical handover of the new, colourful, high-quality and modern nursery on Hillebrand Street in the county town took place. The investment proceeded according to plan: it was completed on time, in 14 months, at a total cost of 1.2 billion forints.

Under the leadership of Gábor Kiss, the project team and contractors finalised the nursery’s appearance in the concluding phase by creating a garden, small motor skills play areas and water play areas, whilst ensuring that all building systems were fully operational. At the inauguration ceremony, Mayor Ciprián Farkas said that thanks to the construction of the Mosolyvár Day Nursery, there is no waiting time in Sopron and everyone has the opportunity to send their child to a day nursery. During the construction work, 3 childcare units were created, so the building can accommodate six groups of 14 children.

The event was also attended by local government representatives, professionals from early childhood education institutions, as well as Attila Barcza, Member of Parliament, István Simon and Szabolcs Csiszár, deputy mayors, reported on the event at kisalfold.hu.

6 classrooms, covered terrace, side and playground garden on 1183 square metres

The 84-seat, barrier-free building with a huge (230 square metre) covered terrace and a special playground also features a movement development room and a salt room, designed by SWIETELSKY. The building itself is 1,183 square metres in size and consists of three parts: two group rooms have been created in each part of the building, for a total of six, each of which has its own toilet and changing room, as we reported in our article in our March article.

The building complex also includes a kitchen block, a utility area, a separate archive room and staff toilets in each unit. In addition, there is a side garden, 22 spaces for barrier-free parking and 15 bicycle storage spaces. The building is heated by an economical heat pump system.

The building is a single-storey, flat-roofed building with 30 m load-bearing walls, reinforced concrete reinforcement and a monolithic reinforced concrete slab. The foundations are made of traditional shuttering, footing beams and reinforced concrete sleepers.
