A Chinese technology company is building its largest European base in Transdanubia

China's Fiberhome will set up its largest European centre in Hungary to produce optical fibre cables, an eight billion forint investment that could create around 150 new jobs, Foreign Minister Péter Szijjártó said in a statement in Beijing on 24 April. Fiberhome is among the world market leaders in the field of infocommunications.

The company is bringing a modern investment to Kisbér in Komárom-Esztergom county, where it will produce optical cables. The project is worth eight billion forints, with 15 percent financial support from the state, helping to create around 150 new jobs in the town.

The technological maturity of the Fiberhome is reflected in the fact that the company currently holds around four thousand patents.

"If the demand for optical cables continues to grow and if there is a need for further expansion of production capacity, the company has already indicated that it will make further investments in Hungary", the minister added.
