A renovated road to the ecovillage of Borsod

Published

The 2.3 km section of the Gömörszőlős access road, which was renewed by SWIETELSKY Magyarország Kft., has been opened.

The settlement in Borsod-Abaúj-Zemplén county has less than a hundred inhabitants, but many people still stop in the village, which is hidden in the valley of the Keleméri stream, as it is on the route of the National Blue Trail.
The renewed access road to Gömörszőlős was inaugurated by Péter Ágh, Minister of State for Social Coordination of Public Investments Építési és Közlekedési Minisztérium (ÉKM). He said that small villages will continue to be developed in the future and that everyone should play a role in this work. He added that ÉKM had done the same when it joined the development of Gömörszőlős through the Magyar Közút road rehabilitation programme.

The lives of residents in many small towns have recently been made smoother with road improvements

Last year, the SWIETELSKY Magyarország Kft. project was also completed last year, involving a 1.9-kilometre section of the Szendrő-Abod-Edelény connecting road, marked 2615. As part of the project to improve access to small settlements, the existing pavement was milled, the entire road structure was replaced where necessary, a levelling layer was laid, and then an asphalt wearing course was laid over the entire surface and new kerbs were built.
