Two technical schools in Ferencváros are being modernised in the capital

Construction could be completed by 2026.

A five billion forint infrastructure and equipment development programme will be launched at five institutions of the Budapest Centre for Mechanical Engineering Vocational Training (BGSZC) in the capital's five districts, it was announced on 15 May at the Fáy András Technical School, a member institution of the Centre.

As our newspaper first reported in February reported in February, a total of 96 billion forints will be made available for the development of vocational training centres and the purchase of equipment at 34 locations as part of a nationwide development series under the EU's Recovery and Resilience Facility (RRF) programme.

At a press conference on the development of the BGSZC, Regő Lánszki Regő, Secretary of State of Építési és Közlekedési Minisztérium explained that the National Architectural Design Council is in charge of the institutions' renovation plans, and ÉKM, a consortium partner in the project, is responsible for the design and construction.

As it was said: the complete renovation and energy modernization of the Szily Kálmán Technical School and Dormitory building of the BGSZC will reduce the building's primary energy consumption by 30 percent, they said.

And at the Fáy András Technical School, after the demolition of two existing workshops, a workshop will be created to teach alternative powertrain vehicles, and energy upgrades will be carried out.

Construction work on the two technical centres is expected to be completed in 2026.

In the other three institutions - Bánki Donát Technical College, Ganz Ábrahám Bilingual Technical College, Kossuth Lajos Bilingual Technical College - the programme will provide high-value equipment.
