Large-scale food investment launched in Karcag

A development worth HUF 1.5 billion has been launched halfway between Szolnok and Debrecen - the Szatmári Group is building a new milling plant in Karcag. The foundation stone of the project, which is being implemented with state support, was laid on 21 May, according to a press release.

Solar park also under construction

The development will include the construction of a new 2,500 square metre husking plant and crop storage facility, and a solar farm to help ensure the company's safe operation. The new production capacity will also be able to produce special grain products that were previously missing from the product range.

Speaking at the groundbreaking ceremony of the plant, Finance Minister Mihály Varga said, among other things, that the Hungarian economy could be among the top of the EU's growth rankings this year and next, as the European Commission's forecast confirms.
