Sixty-six beams are used to assemble the bridge of the Nagykunsági canal

From 10 June, in parallel with the work on the Törökszentmiklós bypass, a very spectacular phase of the project will also begin. The beams for the bridge over the main canal of the Nagykunság are being lifted into place. As our portal has reported on several occasions, 17 structures will be built as part of the project, the most prominent of which is the six-span reinforced concrete girder bridge over the main channel of the Nagykunsági.
Work on the M4 on the new route started a year ago.
The construction of the bridge deck and four supports on the west side has been completed, while piling is currently underway on the east side. A total of 66 FCI bridge girders, some 33 metres long, will be put in place in just five days from 10 June.

Two phases to divert traffic

In addition to the bridge development, the 2×1 lane road of the Törökszentmiklós bypass will be renovated and rebuilt. During the works, traffic will be diverted to the new left lane in two phases from 10 June.

In Phase I, between sections 117+400 - 120+300 km. of the current Highway 4 alignment,
and in Phase II, traffic will be diverted between sections 113+500 - 120+300, which is practically the entire section of the Törökszentmiklós bypass.

The diversion will require the temporary placing in service of the authorising authority, which is expected to take place on 10 June. The road is being used as a work zone, and due to the construction works and the significant difference in level of the road in some places, overtaking is prohibited and a speed limit of 40km/h is imposed.

Work is also underway to build two hubs

Among the works on the M4 section under construction, the piling and bridgehead works were also completed at the Kisújszállás junction bridge. The Armenian junction, where four intersecting roads meet, is under construction. The steel supports for the wildlife crossing will be assembled on site after delivery.
