The building of the DVTK Football Academy will be remodelled, a new wing will be added and the building will be modernised.

The renovation will give a new function to one of the floors of the Diósgyőr club's existing building, which houses the youth academy, and the academy will also be expanded with a new 300-square-metre block. According to the announcement published in the public procurement notice, Peka Bau 2000 Kft. submitted the best bid of HUF 599.7 million for the construction. The parties signed the contract at the beginning of August, so the project can now begin.

Dormitory with 25 rooms

According to the tender announcement tender announcement , the contractor and two subcontractors – Konstrukta -Max Építési és Szolgáltató Kft. and DOS EVENTO Kft. – will convert the second floor of the current academy building into a dormitory at the request of the red and white club.

The 1,700 square metre building will have 25 rooms of 16 square metres each, including ancillary rooms. The latter include a new nursery, a kitchenette, a study room, a laundry room, among others.

A new wing will also be built to house the gym

They will also convert part of the ground floor, currently used as a gym, to create three changing rooms of 40 square metres each. The project will also include the construction of a new 300 m2 net gym connected to the building.
According to the contract between DVTK and the contractor, if the amount available for the investment is
able, the club can also order the re-insulation of the roof and facade of the existing academy building. The client has until early October to call for this optional technical content.

The club has also produced an Olympic champion

The Diósgyőr club was founded in 1910. In the first period, the club had only a football team, and then more and more sections for different sports were established. Today, DVTK has nearly 30 different sports teams. Attila Repka, a wrestler, won an Olympic gold medal in 1992 as an athlete of the Diósgyőr club.

Next year, athletes will be able to take possession of the new and renovated buildings

Both boys and girls play and learn at the DVTK Football Sports Academy. The institution is one of the ten football training bases in the country that was awarded the status of a state-recognised sports academy in 2020 after an international audit process.
The renovation and expansion of the academy building is scheduled for completion in spring next year.
