What is being built?
The developer of the new Post Office logistics centre in Ecseri has been selected
WPL-Log Zrt., a wholly owned subsidiary of Waberer’s International Nyrt., has won the tender for the development of the new parcel logistics centre of Magyar Posta, the group said on Thursday.
The modern Posta Centre will be built on an 8.3 hectare site in the Western Industrial Park of Ecser. In the greenfield project, the Waberer’s Group subsidiary will create a warehouse centre with a total area of approximately 25,000 square metres, equipped with state-of-the-art solutions and high energy efficiency.
The opening of the parcel logistics centre is scheduled for the fourth quarter of 2025.
Waberer’s enters new territory
The statement quoted Josló Barna, CEO of Waberer’s International, as saying that the current order from Magyar Posta is a key order for the group. In the second quarter of this year, they announced the launch of their own logistics real estate development business, which, thanks to this development, could be on a growth track earlier than previously planned.
With the new business unit, Waberer’s aims to expand its own warehouse logistics infrastructure and develop logistics centres outside the group to meet specific needs, and to use them in a lease or sale and purchase structure
- said Zsolt Barna.
The Post Office is constantly improving
In its statement, Magyar Posta pointed out that in response to the increase in parcel volumes, the postal service has continuously developed its national parcel processing network in recent years: it has established new regional parcel logistics plants supported by automated transport lines at almost 20 locations, which will be enriched with a central parcel processing plant with the current investment. Magyar Posta Zrt. has examined a number of operators, of which 5 have been invited to participate in a competitive procedure.
