SPAR opens a new store in a border town in Western Transdanubia
The SPAR Magyarország franchise network has reached a significant milestone: The 300th retailer-owned partner store has opened in Lenti, and seven more units will join the programme nationwide this year, according to the company's announcement.
The 300th SPAR franchise store was opened in Lenti by Fe-Zo Kft., which joined the programme this year, adding a total of four units to the network in the west of the country.
The newly opened unit, located in the centre of Lenti, is a classic convenience store that underwent a complete technical renovation before reopening. The 286 sqm shop for sale has been completely refurbished, including the new look and décor.
The SPAR market shop, which employs 14 sales staff, also features locally baked pastries, a deli and meat counter, and a self-service cheese counter.
"The SPAR franchise programme was launched in 2012, when the first store opened in Móro, and since then the number of partner units has steadily increased every year. The SPAR family of stores will allow customers to access our company's quality product range in even more municipalities, but it will also benefit the entrepreneurs in the franchise network. The new stores will be renovated and upgraded upon opening to serve customers in a modern environment while operating in an environmentally friendly way" - said Mark Makzelka, Communications Manager of SPAR Magyarország. With a turnover of almost 135 billion HUF last year, the franchise network provides a livelihood for around 3,700 retail professionals.
In 2024, the SPAR franchise system will be expanded by a total of 35 outlets to 308 by the end of 2024, of which 87 will be located at OMV and 70 at ORLEN service stations. Last year, the franchise network, which employs around 3,700 professionals, had a turnover of nearly HUF 135 billion.
