The new warehouse of the Karzol-Trans Nemzetközi Fuvarozás Kft. was inaugurated on 21 November in Ecser, Pest county. Zoltán Joós Jr., CEO and owner of Karzol-Trans Kft., said at the event that Karzol-Trans Kft. won 820 million HUF in conditional reimbursable EU funding from the Széchenyi Plan Plus programme for the construction of the warehouse and the expansion of warehouse capacity at the Karzol Logistics Centre.

The 10,000 square metre warehouse that has just been opened triples the warehouse capacity of the centre, and together with the leased warehouses, they now provide warehousing services on 40,000 square metres.

In the warehouse hall built as a separate part of the Logistics Centre Karzol, an automated storage area has been created in which driverless material handling equipment (AGV) can be used to load and unload palletised goods. The warehouse was built with energy efficiency in mind, with a heat pump system and a 300-kilowatt solar array installed.

Developments continue

The total cost of the investment exceeded HUF 4 billion, and the company spent another HUF 4 billion to modernise its truck fleet. In addition, they will further expand the Karzol Logistics Centre with additional warehouses on their 15-hectare development site.

Hungary is an important logistics centre because of its central position in East-Central Europe, and also because transport from the East to the West is concentrated here, Minister of National Economy Márton Nagy said at the event.

"There is a future for transport, and our task is to support it and provide the infrastructure for it, which is right here at Budapest Liszt Ferenc International Airport", said the Minister of National Economy, who called the airport, near which the new warehouse is located, the gateway to the country.

Karzol-Trans Kft. started its operations as a road transport company in 1997. They have expanded their activities with warehouse logistics and in 2020 they opened their first roll washing plant. They have a fleet of more than 100 vehicles and 350 employees. The Karzol Logistics Centre is located on the outskirts of Ecser, near the M0 ring road.
