Four water castles with slides to be built in the North-Eastern Hungarian spa

A total of HUF 423 million in non-refundable EU funding will be used to expand the services of the Bogácsi Spa and Beach Baths and develop hiking trails, Mezőkövesdi Média Nonprofit Kft. said in a press release recently.

The project is being implemented under the Széchenyi Plan Plus programme. As the main element of the project, four sliding water castles will be built in the spa near Miskolc in the Mezőköves district, the entire covering of one of the twin pools will be renovated and shading structures will be installed in another.

They will also build a water machine house, expand the service infrastructure: new toilets, renovated showers, improved lighting, and an expanded camera system and Wi-Fi network.

a hiking trail, with Cserépfalu and Bükkzsérc as consortium partners. The footpath will provide access around the three settlements concerned.

Two rest areas will also be created, with smart boards and information panels on the area's wildlife.

The project is expected to be completed by the end of February 2026. The development is expected to encourage tourists to stay longer in South Borsod and to contribute to the local economy in the wider spa area.
